1. The underlying chemical (PFOA) was developed in the 1950s. AFFF was

commercially used beginning in the early 1970s. Some manufacturers began

phase out in in the early 2000s, but we believe the replacement foam has similar

problems.

2. Any time as a firefighter after 1960 is sufficient. Required exposure is a

minimum of 5 exposures over at least 2 years

3. Civilian firefighters (including volunteers) or Military firefighters (including

military personnel). The campaign also accepts the following types of workers

exposed to AFFF:

• Oil Rig worker

• Airport Worker

• Industrial Worker

• Chemical Plant Worker

• While working for a firefighting foam manufacturer, transporting firefighter

foam, and/or incinerating/disposing of firefighter foam.

4. No family history exclusions

5. Minors would not qualify as they could not have exposure. Likewise, extremely

old people likely would not be in the group. Current client pool ranges from early

20s into the 80s.

6. No statute of limitations issues - except for deceased, which is by state

7. Minimum latency of 1 year for all injuries below (duration of time between first

exposure and diagnosis must be at least 1 year)
